I first met Samantha when I attended the professional development course she delivered "Classrooms without Desks". This was such a fun and engaging course which really demonstrated her incredible ability to think outside the box and deliver engaging and relevant content for students. I have been privileged to see many of the productions Samantha has produced, each one being incredibly professional with brilliant acting from the students and stunning set and costume designs. Her ability to bring out the best in her students is second to none. As a teacher Samantha is caring, knowledgeable and generous, always striving to empower and enable her students whilst encouraging them to reach their true potential.

Samantha has worked with me as a Head of Department in the International secondary school system in Singapore teaching HSC NSW curriculum, and the International Baccalaureate Middle Years and Diploma programs at senior level. She has also been a support colleague as we returned to Melbourne together and currently teaching the VCE Theatre Studies and Drama programs.
As a fellow senior Drama specialist, I have always been impressed by Samantha’s breadth of knowledge and sheer energy, enthusiasm and vigour for performance based subjects. She is a hard working teacher with an intuitive nature. She clearly reads her student’s abilities, needs and talents when working on both theoretical and practical aspects of the many courses she has taught.
Sam is always positive when teaching. She is a talented teacher with a passion for theatre and directing. She sets high standards of achievement and I have observed within her an innate ability to stretch her students capacity in ways they may not have ever anticipated or believed they could go. The immense amount of detail and work she puts into her productions are extraordinary. I have watched shows where Sam and her students have pushed the boundaries of theatrical design. Samantha’s performance works are very tight, aesthetically pleasing and professional- it is a joy to watch students thrive in the performance environment she sets.
It’s a lucky student that has Sam for a teacher as she will always do her best to support a student through their learning journey- to the best of her capacity.
