About Mahesh
I am a chemist by profession. I have two Masters degree in Chemistry with distinction and a PhD degree in Chemistry. I also have 3 postdoctoral qualifications with a high level of research experience in Synthetic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Chemical Biology, Medicinal Chemistry and Biochemistry from Imperial College London and University of Cambridge. I have published a number of research articles in chemistry in leading peer-reviewed journals. I have also taught / tutored chemistry courses in these universities for dozens of students from various background and have a track record of being a dedicated and highly inspiring teacher. I am keen to teach chemistry for school students at GCSE and A-level and also advanced chemistry for students at University level. I am open to teach students on an individual basis or as a group preferably in London. I am also open to teach students by online (via Skype). As a tutor in Chemistry, I will strive to achieve my mission by tailoring my teaching methods and the study materials for students specifically to meet the high international standard for each of their respective courses and level of study as recommended by their university or school board. By being actively involved in research in diverse branches of Chemistry and being aware of the growing trends and requirements of the modern industries, my teaching methods and course materials would be routinely updated to meet the new challenges in Chemistry. In the tutorials, I will emphasise students on understanding the principles of Chemistry rather than memorising the facts in Chemistry. This would be the key for a long and successful career in Chemistry or Physical Sciences or Engineering for any student. I will actively provide written tests in Chemistry focusing on testing the student’s aptitude to solve the Chemistry problems based on his or her understanding and application of concepts that had been taught in the classroom and tutorials. When it comes to teaching Organic Chemistry, I will make sure that lessons are taught in the classroom / tutorials with good PowerPoint presentations containing 3D visualisation/animation of molecules in study. Stereochemistry lessons in Organic Chemistry would be taught using plastic 3D models of the molecules for better understanding. Before each lecture, I will make sure students are given about 10-15 min to interact with me regarding any questions and doubts from the previous lecture. I will encourage students to give feedback of the lectures so that it is possible to monitor topics that are perceived to be tough by students and special emphasis on those topics could be given in the subsequent lectures / tutorials.

Details
The cost of teaching will vary depending on the level / course of Chemistry being taught and also on the level of the student. Please contact me for the correct tutorial price. Group tutorials: I can give 20% reduction in fees per student in group tutorials of 2 students; 25% off per student for a group of 3 students; 30% off per student for a group of at least 3 or more students. Tutorial of 2 or more hours per session (with 10 min break every hour): 25% off per student per hour for a tutorial of 2 or more hours. Cancellation Fees: If you decide to cancel the tutorial, please inform me at least 24 hours in advance, if not, 50% of the fee will be deducted.
