About Emmay
I recently graduated from the University of Warwick with a first class degree in History. I am passionate about learning and am continuing my studies to a postgraduate level with the History of Medicine MA at Warwick.
I am a passionate and experienced tutor who ensures success for my students. I have tutored privately for the past two years, during which I have tutored a very diverse ability and age range. During this experience, I have realised the importance of adjusting my communication style to what is best for the student - whether that is lots of textbook questions or collaborating on an online whiteboard! I love helping people discover what method of learning suits them best and watching them grow into a confident and engaged learner that smashes their exams!

My lessons are content driven and engaging. When tutoring English Literature I always focus on the text that the student is studying as part of their GCSE course - we look at the themes of the text alongside improving essay writing technique which is informed by their exam board's mark scheme. When tutoring History I provide a combination of content lessons and essay writing classes. When tutoring Maths and Science, I will choose a subject from the curriculum to focus on for the week, from which we will learn content and then answer essay style questions - I find practising essay-style questions for these subjects are essential for repeatedly securing marks!
