About Sonal
I'm currently a faculty of English and Social Sciences at Sloka Cambridge International School, Hyderabad. I completed my Masters in History from Pondicherry Central University, after graduating from St.Josephs College(Autonomous) Bangalore. I have completed postgraduate research training program in History organized by Kerala Historical Congress in association with Kerala Council for Historical Research. I was a facilitator for Young Leaders Initiative Summer Camp for Government School Children in Telangana (I can produce my cirtificate and experience letter for the same).I'm also the founder member of a public speaking training group in Kerala named 'Vayadikoottam'-The Speakers Band.
PUBLICATIONS AND PRESENTATIONS
• Presented a paper at South Indian History Congress held at Annamalai University, Chidambaram titled 'Revisiting the story of sacred groves and forests by tracing the Vedic love for nature.’ (31 January 2020 )
• Attended National Seminar - ' Project Mausam, Trade and Technology' jointly organized by Pondicherry University and Indira Gandhi Centre for Arts, New Delhi
• Presented a photo portfolio-cum minor field research paper titled ‘Koshy’s-A Modern Horegallu for Bangalore’ discussing how a restaurant of British Era still maintains the vibes of history and acts as an ethno museum attracting people of all categories at St. Joseph’s College as part of a special English Course- 'Consuming the city' dealing with Bangalore as a city. (August 2017)
• Guest lecture at St Joseph’s College (Autonomous), Bengaluru- ‘Revisiting Indian Renaissance in terms of unending caste atrocities, Savitribai and Jotiba Phule- A Case Study.’ (September 2020)

The way I will be handling subjects like History and Political Science will be different.Normally children tend to avoid these subjects thinking it boring, especially history.What I'm trying to do is to create an interest in those kids to learn the subject,which makes learning a joy.I won't insist o classroom teachings.Instead I prefer sitting in an open space under a tree or a park,which will help the child to learn the subject in a better manner,making them refreshed and refueled.
As meeting in person is not possible at the moment, classes will be held online.
