Methodology

My teaching method is extremely personable. I aim to take topics that are potentially intimidating, dismantle them into their core components and build upwards, allowing the student to construct a visual representation of the topic which I feel is essential to the learning process. I base my classes on both my knowledge of the subject, the learning style of my student and up- to- date course handbooks, mark schemes and other relevant materials. By the end of a session, it is important that a student can talk comprehensively through a topic, and be able to participate in a debate- style conversation in the matters discussed. This demonstrates that the student understands the topic and is able to talk through matters comprehensively.

Experience

I am a first year undergraduate history student studying in one of London's top universities; having recently achieved four high grades at A Level in English Literature, Psychology, Modern World History and Art and Design, I can offer tutees comprehensive academic tuition and guidance in terms of time management and independent study. As a recent sixth form graduate myself, I feel I understand the pressures and difficulties faced by students and can provide realistic solutions. I have a passion for learning and acquiring new knowledge which I hope to instill on prospective students.

I was the acting Head Administration Volunteer at Eltham Palace and Gardens between June and July of 2017. I currently hold a part- time position as a day care supervisor and childrens’ party organiser at David Lloyd Leisure Centre, Kidbrooke. I volunteer as a mentor in the William Morris department of Stationers’ Crown Woods Academy , working with both GCSE and A Level art students to improve practical skills and understanding of artists and techniques.
