About Hwa
Chinese is my native language, and I’m confident in helping learners develop a deep and lasting interest in it. I have since taught overseas for over 20 years. Many of my students began learning with me at age 6 and continued through high school—and a few even into university. Watching them grow and succeed in Chinese brings me a strong sense of fulfillment. Along the way, I’ve also formed lasting friendships with many families. Teaching Chinese not only enriches my students’ lives, but also mine. I currently offer lessons online, which allows for flexible and focused learning.

My private tutoring is tailored to each student's level and needs. I use Dr. Ma Liping’s well-known “Zhongwen”(马立平《中文》) curriculum, ideal for students aged 6–20 with good listening and speaking skills. I also incorporate “Easy Steps to Chinese”(《轻松学中文》), “Huawen（北京华文学院《华文》）,” and “Zhongwen” (different editions，暨南大学《中文》) to support students from English-speaking families who are interested in learning Chinese. Other resources include “Chinese for kids“(《幼儿汉语》), which helps build foundational language and cultural skills in an engaging and age-appropriate way. I guide students through character recognition, sentence patterns, and reading comprehension, helping them enjoy stories while building literacy and cultural understanding step by step. I primarily teach online.
