About Kate
I am a master's architecture student at Cambridge University, with a passion for art. I am an artist in my spare time. I specialise in watercolour landscape paintings, but I also have plenty of experience in other paint mediums, cityscapes, portraiture, and figurative work. While studying Fine Art at a degree level, I dabbled in sculpture, woodwork, metalwork, ceramics, you name it, even making canvases. I would be thrilled to help in any area of art Experience: 6 years of experience running my own art business ‘Fine Art Kate’. After school, Art Club Assistant at Sixth form Art Summer School, Nottingham Trent University Academic: A* A-level Fine Art, A* GCSE Art and Design I completed 1/3rd BA Fine Art degree Loughborough University gaining a certificate of Higher Education in Fine Art without being required to do a foundation degree. I hold a BArch in Architecture from Loughborough University. A-level Art Award - Highest mark achieved, work ethic. GCSE D&T Department Award. Exhibitions: Selected and exhibited in the Wales Contemporary 2020. Making a Mark Exhibition 2019, Manufacturing and Technology Centre Invigilated many art exhibitions at Loughborough University, Part of exhibition boards.

I will adapt my methods best to suit the needs of the student. Every student is different.. My method of teaching, I like to break down the tasks into small steps, but also allow the student to understand the bigger picture of what they are learning. Give them the confidence to go away and be able to do it themselves. I like to make the lesson interesting and fun. I have used many different mediums and styles over the years and can easily adapt to any project or interest of the student. Included, but not limited to: Mediums: - Watercolour, Acrylic, Oil, Ink, Charcoal, Pastel - Sketching and drawing - Clay work - Ceramics - Wood and metalwork - Mixed Medium - Installations Styles: - Abstract to realist work - Portfolio preparation - CV and personal statement - Course mentorship - Interest in art outside of academia - Art exam preparation - Sketchbook/coursework - Time management and any other study-related questions.
