I mix it up. However, I teach methods and if students understand quickly, I allow them to continue to practice questions to gain fluency. If not, I will show them a different way, usually visual and real-life examples to help students learn.
Hello (potential student!!) my name is Priya Parmar, and I am currently studying English language and literature (BA dual honors) at the University of Lancaster.
Elicit. Whatever question you have, I do anything and everything possible to get you to answer it yourself. I find that lessons are often more fun when conducted that way. It encourages different ways of thinking, which in turn makes learning more interactive. Answering questions with questions, role playing to help understand the topic at hand, you name it.
Im particularly good at teaching via speaking although I am adaptable to the best method of the individual I am tutoring. I myself used a large mix of methods in my A-Levels to learn the content so know a variety of methods to help people memories and understand the content.
I have a firm but enjoyable manner with pupils and I am able to impart cultural insights into the Spanish and Latin American cultures which enrich their perceptions of Spanish speaking cultures. I adjust my teaching to reinforce the strengths of my pupils and works on improving their weaknesses.
I found learning by example was most effective for me at school. After explaining the basic principles of the topic, I go through various examples that increase with difficulty. I highlight the part of the question that makes it harder than the previous example and explain how to tackle a problem of this format. As a recent student, I understand how important it is to be able to ask for help.
I give my first preference to my students. I help them on the Topics they like help on. My approach is usually depended on what the student feels most comfortable with. I am outgoing and ready to adapt to the students needs.
My future career aspiration is to become a teacher. I have done work experience where I helped students with their maths at St James Junior School and I've helped my brother and sister in their studies also. I believe that as a tutor it's very important to be kind and patient, of which qualities I have.
I have taught GCSE Spanish students, young children and adults. My teaching method varies according to the needs of my students and their learning styles, in order to maximize their learning experience. My approach overall is for the student to have an enjoyable, fun experience while benefitting from the learning.
I teach the kids by trying to find a point of interest for them. This way they are engaged more and have a more enjoyable learning experience. This is more likely to get them self motivated and more eager to learn in the future. I like to break things down for children into easily digestible chunks, to avoid them being overwhelmed.
My teaching method is very practical and creative. I believe students need hands-on learning, where they can experience education through abstract and concrete resources. teaching and learning will be based on fun activities to enhance the love of learning. I give lessons to primary students as well as key stage 3 students who require a boost.
I recently graduated from the University of Derby with a BA in Creative Writing (2:1), and am currently studying for a Master's degree in Writing for Performance. I give lessons to ages 14+, all the way to undergraduate level. English Literature lessons are taught simply and methodically, whereas Creative writing lessons are more freeform and activity-oriented.
As I am more confident with oral comprehension, I prefer to have an open conversation with my students for them to receive a first hand real-life conversation in Spanish. To put to practice everything they have learnt/are learning on the blackboard, and bring that to actual situations they might find in Spanish speaking environments.
I have just completed my undergraduate degree in computer science so I am confident in taking classes for students up A levels. I am looking for students with little or no programming experience hoping to build a career in web development or programming.
My teaching methodology depends on my student's individual strengths and level. Depending on the circumstance I am happy and capable to adapt to other curriculum and methods. I believe that each student has an individual way of learning things and as a tutor I try to respect and integrate that in my teaching methodology.
First, in my opinion, it is important to fix an objective (passing an exam, improving your knowledge in a specific field, etc.) Secondly, I believe that learning should be and can be fun - the lessons should be always adapted to the interests of the student. Finally, the lessons should be clear and the tutor should be able to explain everything in detail.
If it is one to one I would give the student the concept of the topic and its background. I would ask them to ask questions and would give them exercises to test their knowledge. I would provide them practical facilities where required to learn the technology.
My teaching method begins with me understanding where the pupil is at in maths. I would get to know where their strong points and weak points are in maths and then work on the weak points with them whilst also every now and then testing them on their strong points to make them even better. I hope to make every student of mine confident in their maths skills and improve vastly on their weak points.
I strongly support the fact that every student have a different approach and learning ability. Patience is a must. Reading , Writing and Speaking is the combination of a good understanding of the language. Private classes will be 1.30 hour as many times per week as possible.
I would preferably like to teach GCSE and AS level. I would like to meet my student and determine how they like to learn, for example some children are visual learners so I would build my lessons to accommodate each individual. I like to keep my tutorials relaxed and friendly.
My teaching method and structure is based around the syllabus for each specific subject and I like to focus on exam technique and really understanding the syllabus. I believe that doing questions are the best way to ensure complete understanding once the content of a topic has been learnt.
I will first see how much you already know, then I will see the way you take in new information. I am really friendly so even if you get confused I will explain everything to you again and with your way of thinking in mind. I am able to help with a variety of levels but am limited to in school studies.
I will approach each topic with patience, allowing the tutee to demonstrate their skills and then giving them in depth feedback about how they can improve them, then I will set tasks to see how they've taken my advice and explanations on board. However, I will use different approaches for different ages.
Based in Derby and able to teach via webcam, or in person if within a reasonable distance. I'm a qualified AAT bookkeeper with AATQB status, currently studying AAT Management Accounting: Budgeting at Level 4. I'm here to share some knowledge and understanding of the AAT Levels 1-4 topics, alongside looking for validation of my own progression.
I'm a college student wanting to help secondary and primary school students; so my style of teaching is pretty chilled and laid back, I just want to help young adults do better in school without having to travel for extra lessons. I'm fun, easy going and easy to talk to and learn from.
As a Primary Specialist I have indepth knowledge of the Primary National Curriculum. I am happy to provide tailored tutoring to KS1 and KS2 children including SATs practice. I have strong maths knowledge and can tutor up to GCSE level. My lessons use a range of concrete, pictorial and abstract representations to support full understanding of a range of mathematical concepts.
I mainly tutor beginners and students up to GCSE level, however I can offer advice to more advanced students in specific areas. I am very positive, calm and committed to helping all students improve their skills and broaden the variety media they use in their own artwork.
I offer online tutoring aswell to make it more convenient for us. For GCSE students I will look at the exam board and learn a bit about how the student works. For primary and secondary students,I will need a syllabus or some info from you about what they are learning etc in order tutor accordingly.
I am an English graduate offering lessons for students up to university level. My lesson stucture will vary based off of what or how the students respond best to; my methods of instruction will be flexible, solely depending upon the student.
My teaching method is based on the current GCSE curriculum and teaching it to students and helping them in areas they need help in. I will target weak areas and will teach them and help them to understand it through examples and test them after with questions.
