About Arturo
I completed a degree in Chemical Engineering at Johns Hopkins graduating with departmental honors. I also successfully was accepted into medical school at Boston University and am now in my fourth year applying to Anesthesiology residency. I've taught hundreds of students at this point and enjoy mentoring on the side to give people the advice and guidance I wish I had had earlier in my career to get where I wanted to go. If you're a student of mine at any point, you're a student of mine at every point and I'll always take the time aside to mentor you and answer any questions about career building or take a look at personal statements etc.

I have a comprehensive slide deck that covers all of the most commonly taught and tested material in the General Chemistry Curriculum from the organization of the periodic table, to kinetics and equilibrium, to thermodynamics and electrochemistry and more.
While studying chemical engineering, I learned a lot of the ideas from gen chem to a great level of detail and how to apply these concepts to the real world. I love drawing comparisons and explaining that all the mundane everyday things that happen are just the world of chemistry around you (real life magic). Students often feel these comparisons cement the material in their memory better than the mind-numbing equations in a typical gen chem class.
I'm available to teach high school and college chemistry and I look forward to meeting you : )

Arturo is a great teacher. Beyond a mastery of the material he teaches, he shows tremendous patience and a strong interest in his students' comprehension. He is capable in both group and individual teaching and is able to quickly identify and accommodate his pupil's pace.
Arturo is an excellent tutor! On our first session, he came prepared with a meticulously crafted year-long MCAT prep plan. He had our sessions planned down to the week! What sets him apart is his flexibility with scheduling – he tailors everything to fit my busy schedule.
He is very knowledgeable and well versed in all of the subjects we have covered so far. I appreciate how even when I hit roadblocks, he knows where and how to bridge the learning gaps. He’s great at problem solving and easy to talk to, which I think is one of the things I appreciate most in a tutor.View more recommendations
