About Y

I excel in both English and Chinese, boasting a cross-cultural background from my studies at the University of Ottawa and international experiences. This unique perspective enables me to identify and clarify the intricacies of both languages, ensuring a seamless transition between them.

I hold an A Level Mandarin certificate, a testament to my proficiency in the language. This credential equips you with the confidence to engage confidently in Chinese-speaking environments.

I specialize in preparing students for HSK Levels 1-9, providing comprehensive support in conversation, travel, and business Chinese. My teaching approach is tailored to your specific needs, ensuring a personalized and effective learning experience.

Let's embark on an exciting journey of language exploration. As your guide, I will leverage my expertise and experiences to unlock the full potential of your language learning. Join me, and together we will soar to new heights of communication!

About the lesson

I am a Chinese language teacher with three years of teaching experience. I specialize in teaching standard Mandarin Chinese and practical phrases，with a focus on enhancing students' speaking and listening skills.

I am well-versed in the requirements and techniques of HSK and AP Chinese exams, and can assist students in preparing for these exams. In my classes, I systematically cover pronunciation, vocabulary, and grammar, and integrate real-life conversations to enhance students' practical communication abilities.

To give students a better understanding of Chinese culture, I integrate cultural aspects into my lessons. For example, when teaching daily phrases, I explain the cultural meanings behind them; when introducing Chinese characters, I discuss their origins and evolution, helping students appreciate the beauty of the characters.

I emphasize practicality and interaction, encouraging students to speak Chinese confidently. I organize various activities in class, such as role-plays and topic discussions, to engage students actively in speaking. Additionally, I teach practical expressions and slangs to enable students to communicate more naturally with native Chinese speakers.

To maintain freshness in my teaching approach, I continuously explore and innovate my methods. For example, I utilize videos, music, and games to engage students multisensory experiences of the Chinese language. I also customize my teaching plan based on individual student needs and interests to ensure effective learning.

Throughout the learning process, I pay close attention to students' feelings and progress, providing regular feedback and guidance. I regularly check on progress to understand students' learning status and make necessary adjustments to my teaching plan. Additionally, I patiently answer students' questions, encourage them to overcome challenges, and stoke their learning enthusiasm.

If you wish to make significant progress in your Chinese language learning or desire to learn more about Chinese culture, I welcome you to join my class. As an experienced and professional Chinese language teacher, I am committed to helping you achieve your goals. Let's embark on an enjoyable and enriching learning journey together!
