I base my teaching on techniques backed up by evidence, namely Active Recall and Spaced Repetition. This means as well as guiding you to learn new information, I will test you to increase the retention of knowledge and your ability to answer exam questions and revisit topics already studied: the key to top grades!
I aim to set up processes and key points as clearly as possible at a basic level before building on these foundations. I am a very patient person and more than willing to be flexible with my tutoring to make my lessons more enjoyable and efficient for you.
I have a strong history of academic ability and am studying Human Biology & Infectious Diseases at the University of Salford, but am new to tutoring. I have been involved with a peer mentor scheme with younger students and volunteered in GCSE science lessons while studying for my A - Levels.
If travel to the student is more than 5km, this will incur a £1 Surcharge. KS3 Tuition is set at £5/hour (+Travel costs as standard). I require at least 12 hours notice of cancellation; without this notice, I will charge for half of the lesson still.
