About Uyen
I teach IELTS by breaking each skill into specific question types and teaching students how to approach each one step by step. For each question type, I explain what to look for, demonstrate the strategy with examples, guide students through practice, and then give targeted feedback on their mistakes. Grammar and vocabulary are taught within the skill where students need them, so they learn how to apply them rather than memorize rules in isolation.
I am an IELTS 8.0 tutor and a Master’s student in Communication at the National University of Singapore (NUS). Since 2021, I have taught and mentored English learners from different backgrounds, including over 100 learners and IELTS Foundation-level students across all four skills.
My current IELTS classes focus on helping Foundation-level students build the English skills and exam techniques needed to work towards Band 5.5.

I teach English and IELTS Test Prep to Foundation-level students, with a focus on building strong fundamentals before moving into exam strategies. I currently teach IELTS Foundation classes and cover all four skills: Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking.
My lessons are structured around specific question types and common student difficulties. I break complex tasks into manageable steps and integrate grammar and vocabulary into each skill, so students understand how to apply what they learn rather than simply memorizing answers. I also provide targeted practice and feedback to help students recognize and improve their weaknesses.
Lessons typically last 60–120 minutes, depending on the student's needs and learning goals. I hold an IELTS 8.0 and have experience teaching and mentoring English learners.

Details
S$28 per hour for a 60-minute lesson. Students can book individual lessons or save by booking a 5-hour or 10-hour package. The first 1-hour lesson is free, so we can discuss your goals and see whether my teaching style is a good fit before you commit to a package.
For in-person lessons, a travel fee may apply depending on the location. Online lessons are available as well.
