About Susmita
Hello! I have completed my M.Sc. in Geology and am currently pursuing my PhD as a Research Scholar at IIT Kharagpur, specializing in Engineering Geology.
I am passionate about teaching and enjoy discussing scientific ideas with students. I have experience teaching students in offline classes, and my academic and research experience have helped me develop a strong understanding of both fundamental and applied geology.
I believe a good teacher should make a difficult concept feel simple without losing its scientific meaning. My goal is therefore not only to help students prepare for examinations but also to help them understand how scientific concepts connect with the real world.
I aim to create a friendly learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, discussing ideas, and learning at their own pace.

My classes focus on building a clear conceptual understanding rather than simply memorizing facts. I explain concepts using diagrams, real-world examples, field observations, and practical applications wherever possible.
Since every student has a different level of understanding and a unique way of learning, I adapt my teaching approach according to the student's background, syllabus, and learning goals. I encourage students to ask questions and discuss ideas freely, as I believe interaction and curiosity are essential parts of learning science.
I teach General Science to students from Classes 6–10, with an emphasis on developing strong fundamentals and making scientific concepts easy to understand.
For undergraduate and postgraduate students, I teach Geology and Earth Sciences, including Engineering Geology, Structural Geology, Mineralogy, Petrology, and Geomorphology. I can also assist students from related disciplines who want to strengthen their understanding of geological concepts.
My classes can be tailored to help with concept clarification, university examinations, problem-solving, geological maps and diagrams, and difficult topics from coursework.
My aim is to create a friendly and interactive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and develop confidence in the subject.
