I am an Industry trained drama school student currently searching to share knowledge, build character and work with others to tailor their personal needs. I trained in Leeds, West Yorkshire, as an Actor with various professional directors and practitioners who I worked tirelessly with, building me up to a strong, confident and knowledgeable individual. My strengths are text, character, breathing, plays and confidence building. I led workshops and tutorials for over 2 years in Leeds, invited in my businesses to encourage team building and bonding as well as working with play casts in a variety of exciting practical activities. I have recently decided to take this knowledge and return to study, at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School (One of the top leading drama schools in the world)
My lessons would be suited to each individual student depending on weaknesses, strengths, what they needed/wanted, and arrange a series of lessons (if necessary) including a variety of theory based work, as well as practical teaching if required. My knowledge and understanding of plays is extensive, and how to take character from a play to real life is an art I've studied religiously. I have studied and referred to all plays specified on GCSE/ A level specifications. I am a confident, friendly, enthusiastic and aspiring individual who wants to pass on and nurture others for a low price. My teaching doesn't have to extensively be towards theatre folk, I have previously worked with all kinds of people to bring out the best of them, allowing them to take the most of every opportunity in a variety of different careers.
My tutoring has helped various people, from A Level students to business professionals. A level students have gone onto be confident in their exams, coming out with impressive grades, whilst business people have left sessions feeling able to be more approachable and tackle work in a more positive head space.
I have experience in Directing and Acting in amateur productions, leading onto working with a professional theatre company in June 2016. I acted as assistant director to Rod Dixon of Red Ladder Theatre Company during their production of Leeds Lads. During the shows, I took on Assistant Stage Manager roles, working with technicians to provide a smooth performance. From this I was put in contact with members of the West Yorkshire Playhouse where I helped with Get in’s and get outs casually for a few months before my next role.
In September 2016, I began working at Q Divison LTD as a Set constructor and prop maker. I have acquired a variety of skills such as Joinery, Carpentry, Basic metal work, understanding of how a set goes together and Scenic Art as well as operating machinery such as a CNC, amongst others. Working in theatre trained me to work long days, 7 days a week in order to maintain a high quality and successful business.
As well as this, I continued my work on Acting as an art, working with other theatre companies and directors to train myself in breathing, acting techniques, text and character, improvisation plus a variety of other skills. I led workshops/ group sessions for play casts, business groups etc .
