About Livia
My studies began with the piano, and then (at the age of 15) I became addicted to synthesizers and their inexhaustible creative power. As I studied electronics, I became increasingly interested in understanding sound. At the age of 25, I graduated with a master's degree in sound engineering from the Tor Vergata University in Rome and started my career as a producer and DJ in the clubs of my city, leaving the underground sphere. At the end of 2016 I moved to Berlin, where I was able to grow internationally, working with important clubs such as Berghain, Tresor, Fabrik and many others. In recent years I have done various sound works for documentaries, interviews and short films. I often work as an endorser in the pro audio field. In 2020 I started an artist collective called ACXS, selling sample packs created with the use of licensed equipment from production brands. In the same year, I founded my own label Ipnotica Erotica, which aims to convey the artistic approach as a form of free expression. The masterclasses I give live very often focus on preparing a fully analog live performance based on improvisation and emphasizing the importance of knowing your instruments.

My course provides a solid foundation on a technical and practical level, enabling you to be flexible with any electronic instrument at your disposal, whether for production or live performance, in full analog mode or with the ‘convenience’ of digital. To communicate clearly with a listener, two factors become essential: awareness of the message to be conveyed and complete mastery of the medium. Awareness comes from knowledge. Knowledge enables us to optimize our cognitive abilities and to develop them further. Knowing the inner workings of things in depth, understanding the mechanisms and processes behind them, is fundamental to fully comprehending the entire process behind an action. This awareness makes it possible to act in a more informed and conscious way. The course includes teaching material in PDF format and an Ableton student discount.
