About Isla
I hold a Bachelor of Music in Guitar Performance and have spent the last 8 years helping students strengthen their skills and deepen their understanding of music. My passion for guitar began through performance experiences, songwriting projects, and years of dedicated practice. Teaching allows me to share that passion while helping learners discover their own musical voices. Supporting students through challenges and achievements continues to motivate me every day. Music has always been an important part of my life.
My teaching approach emphasizes clarity, encouragement, and practical application. I believe students learn best when they understand how technical concepts connect to real music. Lessons are adapted to individual goals while maintaining a structured path for development. Learners receive guidance that helps them build confidence and independence. This creates a positive environment where progress feels natural and rewarding.
Outside teaching, I enjoy composing music, collaborating with other musicians, and exploring different guitar styles. These experiences help keep my lessons fresh and relevant. Watching students achieve meaningful milestones is deeply rewarding. I strive to make every lesson supportive and engaging. My goal is to help learners build skills that inspire a lifelong connection with music.

My guitar lessons combine practical skill development with creative exploration to help students become confident musicians. Students work on bending accuracy, vibrato control, solo phrasing, tone shaping, rhythm development, fretboard understanding, and performance confidence. Some students want a structured path with clear milestones, while others seek opportunities to develop creativity and personal style. Activities include improvisation exercises, ear training, song analysis, guided practice routines, and performance preparation. Students receive detailed feedback that supports steady growth and long-term improvement. This balanced approach keeps learning both productive and enjoyable.
My goal is to help students become confident and expressive guitarists. As technical skills improve, learners gain greater freedom to explore different musical styles and ideas.
