About Kate
As a Piano tutor with 17 years of experience, I am passionate about making music education accessible and enjoyable for everyone. I teach school students, college students, and working professionals, helping them achieve their musical goals through personalized instruction.
My teaching philosophy focuses on encouragement, consistency, and practical learning. I believe that small, steady improvements lead to lasting success, and I work closely with students to support their progress.
My lessons include piano fundamentals, scales, chords, rhythm exercises, music theory, ear training, sight reading, and performance preparation. I also guide students in developing effective practice techniques that improve learning efficiency.
In addition to Piano, I teach keyboard techniques and foundational music theory. These subjects help students build a strong understanding of music and become more confident performers.
My friendly and supportive teaching style helps students stay motivated and enjoy learning. I strive to create a learning experience that is both educational and inspiring.

I believe that learning piano should be enjoyable, meaningful, and motivating. My teaching approach combines communication, creativity, flexibility, patience, and structured learning. Every lesson is designed according to the student's current level and future goals.
Students first develop strong fundamentals through posture, hand coordination, finger exercises, rhythm, note reading, and music theory. These basics prepare them for learning scales, chords, dynamics, articulation, pedal techniques, sight reading, and expressive performance.
I explain every concept using simple English and practical demonstrations so students understand not only how to play but also why each technique is important. Students are encouraged to ask questions, participate actively, and practice consistently.
To keep learning interesting, students play music from different genres based on their interests. They also develop creativity through simple improvisation, accompaniment, and musical interpretation.
In addition to piano, I teach keyboard skills, rhythm exercises, ear training, music theory, music appreciation, performance preparation, and sight reading. These related subjects strengthen overall musicianship.
My objective is to help students become confident performers who enjoy learning, improve continuously, and develop a lasting passion for piano and music.
