About Finn
I am a dedicated Violin tutor with 7 years of teaching experience, having successfully trained around 150 students from beginner to advanced levels. My teaching journey has helped me understand the importance of patience, clarity, and structured progression in musical growth.
I focus strongly on building solid fundamentals such as correct posture, proper bow hold, finger placement accuracy, tone development, and rhythm control.
Once students are comfortable with the basics, I gradually introduce advanced techniques, expressive phrasing, and performance preparation. I personalise every lesson to match the student’s learning speed and goals, ensuring steady and confident improvement. I also provide detailed home practice guidance so students can make meaningful progress between sessions.
My unique strength lies in my ability to create a calm and motivating learning environment where students feel encouraged to push their limits. My aim is to develop confident, technically sound, and expressive violinists.

My teaching approach for violin is based on clear communication and a deep understanding of each student’s learning style. I believe that when students feel heard and supported, they perform better and grow with confidence.
I begin by assessing their current level, musical interests, and long-term goals. I then adapt my lessons to suit whether they learn best through listening, watching demonstrations, reading notes, or practical repetition.
I focus strongly on fundamentals such as posture, bow control, intonation, rhythm accuracy, and tone quality. Along with violin training, I include music theory, scale systems, arpeggios, sight reading, ear training, and basic harmony to build complete musical knowledge. I use real-life examples such as preparing for recitals, managing performance anxiety, participating in orchestras, and handling graded examinations.
I also guide students in building effective home practice routines. My goal is to develop technically skilled, confident, and expressive musicians.
