About Loren
I am an intermediate phase teacher who has been tutoring/aupairing/teaching for 4 years. I have tutored a range of subjects to students between the ages of 9 to 12. I help my students manage their work goals and find joy in learning.

My teaching methodology is student-focused. This means that the students need to be open to setting their own goals and making sure that they are able to achieve them. It is important for children to take responsibility for their own work.
As a tutor, I am very patient and I make sure to take the time for the learner to understand the content and encourage them to express their ideas in an open environment that is free from judgment. We are taught in school to express "correct" answers but, to me, having open discussions with all answers encourages learners to expand their own thinking and correct themselves. As a tutor, my job is to facilitate that development, not to tell them this is right and this is wrong.
