I am student at King's College London, previously securing A*, A, A, A in my A-levels. I have in-depth knowledge of A level English literature, government and politics, and geography. When conducting lessons it is initially important to understand and discuss with the student topics they feel are areas for improvement and why. By creating an open dialogue having honest conversations about progress and revision techniques can be amended according to the student. For example, in English, if a student felt they needed guidance in the close analysis. This would require an understanding of the context of the text, the quotations, and an evaluation of appropriate language devices. By setting these foundations we can put this into practice with exam-style questions, then the student can graduate to completing them in timed conditions independently, then we will correct and add to them together to create an exemplar answer. This progressive approach helps track the development and understanding of not only knowledge for exams but strengths skills of writing, critical and creative thinking.
