About Silvia
I’m Silvia, an Ivy League graduate in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics. I grew up between different places and speaking Spanish, which shaped my perspective and love for language. I’ve always been an avid reader and enjoy working with ideas and turning them into clear, compelling writing. As a Division I rower, I bring discipline, consistency, and a strong work ethic to everything I do. I’m approachable, patient, and genuinely enjoy helping others build confidence in their abilities.

My approach focuses on helping students build both strong writing skills and confidence. As an Ivy League PPE graduate, I teach students how to structure arguments, write clearly, and engage deeply with texts—not just complete assignments.
In a typical lesson, we review past work, focus on one key skill (like thesis development or essay structure), and apply it directly to their assignments. I keep sessions structured but personalized so students can clearly see their progress.
What sets me apart is my focus on teaching how to think, not just what to write. I work with middle school, high school, and college students in English, literature, and writing-intensive courses.
