About Laylah
Hi, I'm Laylah! I am a Biomedical Science graduate from King's College London with almost three years of tutoring experience teaching students across a range of ages and abilities.
My degree has provided me with an in-depth understanding of biological sciences, including genetics, cell biology, physiology, immunology and molecular biology. Alongside tutoring privately and online, I have worked with students through established tutoring organisations, helping them improve their understanding, confidence and examination performance.
I am passionate about Biology because it explains the mechanisms behind life itself, from individual molecules and cells to entire organ systems. My aim is to make lessons engaging, approachable and academically rigorous while helping students develop confidence in their own abilities. I believe that with the right support and study techniques, every student can make significant progress and achieve their goals.

My Biology lessons focus on helping students truly understand the subject rather than simply memorising facts. Biology contains a large amount of content, so I teach students how to break complex topics into manageable sections and use effective revision strategies to retain information long-term.
During my own A Levels, I improved by two grades through refining my revision techniques and identifying the methods that produced the best results. I now incorporate active recall, spaced repetition and exam-style practice into my lessons to help students maximise their performance. Particular emphasis is placed on applying biological knowledge to unfamiliar scenarios, a skill that is essential for success in GCSE and A Level examinations.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes long and are tailored to each student's individual strengths, weaknesses and goals. Whether a student is aiming to improve their confidence, prepare for examinations or achieve top grades, I provide structured and supportive lessons designed to help them reach their full potential.
