About Alex

Hi, I'm Alex! I went to school at Alleyn's in London, and I want to teach because I know exactly what it's like to feel totally stuck on a subject. I used to find exams and tricky topics stressful until I figured out the right tips and study methods to make things click. I’m super patient, easy to talk to, and I promise our lessons will be a completely stress-free zone where you can ask as many questions as you need. I take my classes seriously and always come 100% prepared, but I keep things relaxed so you can build your confidence up at your own pace and actually enjoy the process!

I focus on building core confidence and removing the fear of numbers through step-by-step logic. My methodology includes:

Breaking Down the Problem: For KS3 and 11+, maths is often just hidden behind tricky wording. I teach students how to translate text into simple, manageable equations.
Interactive Problem Solving: We work through problems together on a digital whiteboard, ensuring the student is active and explaining their logic back to me, rather than just listening to a lecture.
Progress Tracking for Parents: I keep parents fully in the loop with quick updates after lessons so you know exactly what topics we've mastered and what we are tackling next.

Typical Length of a Lesson
Lessons run for 60 minutes. For KS3 and 11+ students (ages 9–14), an hour is the absolute sweet spot to keep their concentration sharp, make meaningful progress, and avoid burnout.

My Qualifications & Experience
Achieved an 8 in GCSE Maths.
Alleyn's School Alumnus: I successfully navigated the competitive independent school system in London myself, giving me first-hand insight into what it takes to pass elite entrance exams.

Who the Lessons Are For
I specialise exclusively in KS3 Maths (Years 7, 8, and 9) and 11+ Entrance Exam Preparation. Whether your child needs help catching up with schoolwork or is pushing for top marks on a grammar/independent school entrance test, I adapt my pace to fit them.
