About Usaamah
Hi !
My name's Usaamah. I'm a recent graduate from the BA acting course at LAMDA. I've been out in the industry for three years now and have been lucky enough to work across all mediums. I did three, two hander plays at great London venues such as Soho theatre, The Kiln Theatre and The Orange Tree Theatre.
I'm an acting geek. I've read and tried so many different practices and continue to do so. Sometimes it can all be a bit wish washy and confusing and part of the fun is figuring out your process. My goal is to help you figure out what can make you feel alive and truthful while performing, whilst also having fun, otherwise what's the point?
Since leaving drama school I've helped numerous friends auditioning for drama school and also those out in the industry, so whatever it is you need help with, I'd love to give you a hand !

My approach is practical, personalised and rooted in the reality of being an actor. I want students to develop not only their acting technique, but also the confidence, curiosity and discipline needed to work professionally.
I tailor each session to the individual student and their goals. Depending on what they need, lessons can include script and character analysis, scene work, improvisation, audition and self-tape preparation, voice and physical work, developing objectives and actions, and learning how to make strong, specific choices. I encourage students to understand why they are making a choice rather than simply telling them what to do. The aim is to give them tools they can eventually use independently.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes, although I can adapt the length depending on the student's needs.
