About Amanda
I have a wide ranging educational background including a BA in Criminology from the University of Denver where I minored in International Politics and Psychology.
Subsequently, I completed my master’s degree at the University of Glasgow in Human Rights and Equality. I have also completed a Bachelor’s of Law at the University of Glasgow and have been called to the Bar of England and Wales.
I have significant experience with drafting, public speaking, and peer-review. I have a wealth of experience navigating university admissions both in the US and internationally. During my undergraduate degree, I volunteered with high school students in the Denver Metro area assisting in proofreading college admissions essays. My volunteer experience in conjunction with my personal experience in successfully applying to universities abroad have given me a unique ability to assist students in crafting college essays regardless of where they apply.
Throughout my training as a lawyer, public speaking has been at the forefront of my experience. In giving submissions and receiving feedback from judicial figures and esteemed lawyers, I have developed expertise in structure, presentation style, and content. I am confident in my ability to assist students in becoming persuasive and confident speakers.

Lessons are tailored by focusing on skill sets appropriate for each age group and addressing the areas where students feel they need improvement. I will work with students to assist in their development in key areas:
a ) Confidence: Stage fright is common, even among professional public speakers. I will help students develop strategies to manage nerves and present themselves confidently and competently.
b) Structure and Content: As students begin to present in class or participate in public speaking competitions, such as debate, persuasive structure becomes essential. I will work with students to enhance their ability to structure arguments, create outlines, and effectively handle questions and interventions during their presentations.
c) Delivery Techniques: I will provide activities and exercises aimed at improving delivery, including voice modulation, body language, and pacing.
The first lesson will focus on getting to know the student and identifying the areas they wish to improve. I will then create detailed lesson plans with activities and exercises tailored to those areas. Ultimately, the lessons will aim to equip students with the skills necessary to become persuasive and captivating speaker
