About Brenda
Hi! I'm Brenda, a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) graduate with Upper Second Class Honors (2:1) from Northumbria University through the HELP University twinning program. Alongside my legal education, I have experience working as a Legal Intern, Paralegal and English tutor, which has strengthened my communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
I believe learning should be engaging, encouraging and tailored to each student's individual needs. Every student has a unique learning style, so I adapt my teaching methods to suit their pace while helping them build confidence and develop a strong understanding of the subject.
As a tutor, my goal is not only to help students achieve better academic results but also to cultivate critical thinking, effective study habits and a genuine interest in learning. I create a friendly and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and learning from them.

Lessons are interactive and structured:
1) Understanding the student's academic background by reviewing their current syllabus, learning objectives and study materials
2) Identifying and assessing student's current level of proficiency in English
3) Guiding students through concepts step by step depending on their syllabus with a prepared structure
4) Providing regular, constructive feedback plus revision with exercises and practice questions to reinforce understanding and monitor progress
Lessons (1 hour/session):
1) Pomodoro-based learning – Lessons are infused with the Pomodoro Technique, incorporating focused study intervals with short breaks to maintain concentration and reduce mental fatigue.
2) Example lesson flow – Students typically complete 20 minutes of focused learning, followed by a 5-minute break
Experience:
1) Previous qualification as an English tutor for 6 months for students starting from 8 - 15 years old
2) Am able to teach working adults for basic conversational English
