About Zara
I'm a law grad (first-class, and an A* in English back in the day), but honestly my real love is stories. I'll happily lose a whole weekend to a good book, a film, or way too much anime. I did six years of theatre school too, which is probably why I can't read a passage out loud without getting a bit dramatic about it.
That's basically what I bring to lessons: I actually care about this stuff, and I want you to enjoy it as well. Whether you're stuck on an essay, prepping for an exam, or just trying to survive a book you can't stand, I've got you.

Whether you're building confidence with reading and writing or polishing essays for a top exam grade, my lessons meet you exactly where you are.
I teach English at all levels, from primary and KS3 right through to GCSE, A-level, and adult learners, and I tailor every session to the individual student rather than a one-size-fits-all script!
My own background shapes how I teach. I hold a first-class law degree, which trained me to read closely, argue clearly, and build a watertight case (skills that translate directly into strong essay writing and analysis). I earned an A* in English myself, so I know exactly what examiners are looking for and how to get there.
Six years of theatre school also means I bring reading aloud, performance, and a real sense of how language sounds and moves into every lesson. Above all, I love books and reading, and I want my students to feel that too.
In our lessons you can expect a relaxed but focused atmosphere where we work on the things that actually move the needle: clear writing, confident reading, sharp analysis, and exam technique that turns effort into marks. I give specific, constructive feedback so you always know what you're doing well and what to work on next, and I make sure the reasoning behind every correction is clear so the progress sticks.
