My teaching methods are tailored to each individual student. I use the first lesson to assess the level of the individual and encourage input from them in terms of how they feel they need help. And then I prepare my lessons accordingly, separately, so there is no rigid timetable to stick to. I also set homework between lessons to consolidate learning and return it, marked, the beginning of next lesson often spending a little time going through it with the student.
