About Anna
I’m a professional illustrator and artist originally from Australia, now based in Bristol, UK. I began studying Fine Art Painting at the National Art School in Sydney when I was 18 years old, and I’ve been working as an artist and illustrator ever since.
I started working professionally as an illustrator in my early twenties and have now spent nearly 20 years honing my craft. Over the years, I’ve worked across editorial, fashion, publishing and commercial illustration, alongside developing my own artistic practice.
My clients have included The New York Times, British Vogue, The Financial Times and The Guardian.
I’m passionate about drawing, visual storytelling and helping people build confidence in their creativity, whatever their starting point. One of the main reasons I love teaching is that I truly believe we all have natural artistic instincts, but many people become too inhibited or self-critical to trust them. I find it incredibly rewarding to help people reconnect with their creativity and discover the artist within themselves.
I’m also a mother, and outside of illustration I love yoga, gardening and attempting to cook Vietnamese food.

Hi, I’m Anna — an illustrator and artist based in Bristol with many years of professional experience working across editorial, fashion, advertising, and fine art.
I teach drawing, illustration, sketchbook development, composition, portraiture, creative confidence, and visual storytelling in a relaxed and encouraging way. My lessons are tailored to each student, whether you’re a complete beginner, building a portfolio, returning to art after years away, or developing a professional practice.
Alongside teaching, I work professionally as an illustrator for international publications and brands including Laurence King Publishing, British Vogue, The New York Times, The Financial Times, The Guardian, Starbucks and Harrods.
My background combines traditional figurative drawing techniques with contemporary illustration and digital processes, and I love helping students develop both technical skills and their own creative voice.
I believe art should feel inspiring rather than intimidating, and I aim to create lessons that are supportive, engaging, and genuinely enjoyable.
