About Utkarsh
Utkarsh Tiwari is a 23 year-old Singer-Songwriter/Guitar teacher from India. He has been trained in multiple genres of music such as Blues, Rock, Jazz, Bollywood and Hindustani Classical. He has been playing the instrument since the tender age of 10, and has had almost 7 years of experience with teaching and performing it. Utkarsh is currently working as a guitar teacher at Dr. A.R. Rahman’s Institute of Music in Chennai (KMMC) and also performs with famous Indie, Fusion and Bollywood bands of the city.
Utkarsh’s approach to teaching music is to first identify the passion lying within each student, then create a dynamic plan for each individual which is specific to his/her needs, and to always keep his focus on nurturing the inner creative genius within each of his students. His style of teaching focuses on forming an understructure for guitar as an instrument, which enables him to fill the gaps that his students have missing in theory and knowledge.
His classes focus on -
Chiseling and refining the Basics: posture, finger fitness, skills and understanding the roles of a guitar player.
Technique workouts: solos, finger style guitar, flamenco and expert-level harmonisation.
Polishing the Foundation: solidifying the basics of music theory and its application in different frameworks and genres.
Song Study: give the exact knowledge of the student's favourite songs.
Stylistic Study: helping to develop expression, confidence and performance in the player.
Instrumental Songwriting: learning how to design guitar patterns on any style of music.
Utkarsh aims at tapping the hidden potential lying discreet within each individual and works on building their confidence hand-in-hand. His direction in educating guitarists of all ages and ranks has the soul of the experience recorded while learning under great maestros, of both the Western and Indian cultures.

Perfect! Utkarsh is a very seasoned and highly talented musical teacher. His step by step teaching method and a cool approach is inspiring and helped me to learn guitar quite fast. In spite of his many commitment's he ensures a right mix of preparation and notes for every class which are quite motivating. I would give him a full 100 out of 100 recommendation for any one who is interested to learn guitar.
