While it is very important to achieve qualifications, as a tutor i tend to put more focus on your personal development as an overall musician and instrumentalist. Of course if you wish i will coach you through your grades all the way up until diploma level if you wish. However, my interests lie in coaching you through your personal passion projects within music, such as:
- Helping you to play in a new style
- Giving you feedback on your musical contributions to a band or ensemble which you are a part of
- Being a support network for you to discover new things you are passionate about within music.
One of our best tutors! High-quality profile, qualifications verified and response guaranteed. Chris will plan your first lesson with care.
I have been playing guitar for nearly 15 years and have experience in almost any style/genre you could think of.
In the 5 years or so that i have been teaching guitar i have probably taught over 100 pupils of all ages and experience levels, both in group sessions, masterclasses, and 1 on 1 lessons. Many of my pupils have went on to achieve distinctions in their exams all the way up until Grade 8 standard.
LIPA/CLASS OF 2020
BA(Hons) Music – 2:1 (specializing in Songwriting and Production)
PULSE MUSIC SCHOOL (LIVERPOOL)
Feb 2019 – Feb 2020
During my time at pulse I had no less than 10 regular pupils per week, most of which were children aged 6 – 12. I also used to teach catch up lessons for other tutors in which I would be teaching students I had never taught before and would most likely never teach again. This required me to be focused and driven during my lesson to ensure that I had enough time to get to know each pupil, get a feel for their abilities and assign something for us to work on to completion, all inside 30 minutes. This role really allowed me to grow in to a more professional tutor, and gave me a skill set which I have carried with me to this day.
GH MUSIC SCHOOL (NORTHERN IRELAND)
Guitar Tutor / Music Theory Tutor / Songwriting/Composition Tutor
January 2016 – September 2017
During My time at GH Music School my primary role was Guitar Tutor. However I expanded that role and eventually ended up running workshops, masterclasses, and regular lessons in Music Theory, Songwriting and Composition. This role broadened my horizons and really re-defined what being a music tutor meant to me. It was a very formative role and helped me develop my own teaching philosophy which revolves around developing students not just into one role, but expanding their horizons and shaping them into a blueprint for a professional musician in the 21st Century.

Perfect! Great first lesson with Chris he obviously knows his stuff. Looking forward to more lessons already.
Perfect! Chris is a very encouraging teacher and is able to break down theory in a way that is understandable.
Has a good basic knowledge of chord shapes, looking more in depth at strumming and chord changes. Very receptive to the process and a pleasure to teach!
Perfect! Very easy to understand really happy with the lesson
Eager to learn, picked it up quickly.
Excellent! This was my first ever guitar lesson, had some technical difficulty's with webcam but Chris explained everything so simple and well that it wasn't a problem!
I've come away, with a good direction of how to improve and practice by myself and will definitely be using him for future lessons.
picked up concepts very quickly, knows exactly what he wants to learn, a pleasure to teach.
Very informative and clear instructor. Gave me a lot of insight.
Chris is a master in music production having studied it for years at University and even years before. Having worked with him in numerous projects he consistently shows his deep understanding of the production process when working with both musicians and other producers. Chris has also showed to me the friendly and engaging way he brakes down his ideas to help further my knowledge within music production within a professional setting, this among his many other talents makes him a perfect candidate for teaching production to people who have never tried it all the way to people who are well versed with production and production software.
Wow! I've just finished my first production lesson with Chris and i cant wait to continue on. He is very passionate knowledgable about all things music related and made me feel really comfortable during our lesson! Would recommend highly!
Would highly recommend, Christopher, he has been tutoring my 7 year old daughter throughout lockdown on video chat. She has flourished from a total beginner, through to being confident enough to attempt her own music. His teaching style is firm but fair and he has a very good manner with children. Very reasonably priced as well which is a bonus.
I have known Chris for over three years as both a friend and professional colleague. He is a very knowledgable and enthusiastic tutor with a broad spectrum of skills and talents. He would make a valuable addition to the Superprof team.
