About Sam
I'm a professional singer-songwriter who's been signed to a major-indie label, toured the UK, Europe and US, and collaborated with artists such as Kings of Convenience and afrobeat legend Dele Sosimi. I have such a deep love of music, and being able to share that is one of the most rewarding things for me as a musician.
My philosophy is all about individuality - learning in the way that's most comfortable and personal to you, so that we can work towards your goals, at your pace. No theory knowledge is required at all - I believe that it's not a necessity to become a great guitarist!
I’m Grade 8 in guitar and bass with RockSchool, but my teaching focuses less on exams and more on helping you find emotion, personality, and individuality in your playing.
I love seeing the fast progress of complete beginners just as much as helping advanced players develop a deeper understanding of their instrument, connect more emotionally with their music, and perform in a more authentic and expressive way.

You can book a free 30 minute session, in which we will go through your goals, and understand how I can help you get there. After the first session, lessons can be up to an hour.
Whether you are a complete beginner learning your first chords, or a more advanced player, I can help you:
- Learn chords, and understand melody within chords.
- Learn the songs you love.
- Write your own songs.
- Build your playing confidence and feel.
- Find your own unique style.
- Gain a deeper emotional understanding of playing choices.
- Learn advanced fingerstyles (for advanced players).
- Master your performance and become able to translate your thoughts to the instrument fluently.
I will simply be a guide to help you find your way to learning and becoming fluent on guitar. I would love to help you get there!
