About Joanna
Hi! I’m Joanna, a native Mandarin speaker from China, currently based in Dublin. I’m a big language lover and really enjoy meeting people from different cultures, which is one of the reasons I’m excited to share Mandarin with others.
I have a master's degree from University College Dublin and a professional background in law and finance. I’m friendly, patient, curious, and easy to talk to, and I believe learning a language should feel exciting rather than stressful.
As someone who has learned and worked in a second language myself, I understand both the challenges and the little wins that come with language learning. I’d love to help you build confidence in Mandarin, learn how people actually speak in everyday life, and discover more about Chinese culture along the way!

I believe the best way to learn a language is to enjoy using it! As a language lover myself, I know that learning a new language can sometimes feel difficult, so I like to keep my lessons relaxed, encouraging, and full of real conversation.
My lessons focus on practical Mandarin, pronunciation, everyday expressions, and natural conversation rather than simply memorizing vocabulary. I also love bringing Chinese culture, food, travel, and everyday life into our conversations to make learning more interesting.
A typical lesson is around 60 minutes, and I adapt each class to your level, interests, and goals. Beginners are very welcome! Whether you are starting from zero, want to improve your speaking, or simply want someone to practice Mandarin with, we can learn at your own pace and have fun along the way.
