About Joe
I'm a graduate sports coach but I've been playing and singing for my whole life. To me, learning technique and music theory is more about allowing us to express something through the music. That is why you may feel self-conscious while singing, it actually a very vulnerable exercise.
My Lessons will be about your specific voice and your specific goals.

My approach is tailored to you! No more learning songs you don't know or like, in my lessons, we will use your music taste and your goals to learn about Music, the anatomy of the voice and practice vocal technique relevant to you!
I can teach you technical skills and give you background understanding of how the voice works so that you can self-teach in the future. When the technique is second-nature, we can begin to develop your vocal style to allow you to emote through your voice, this is a massively important part of being a singer and it's an element that many, technically good teachers miss. (Think of your favourite singer, can you hear emotion in some lines of their songs?) I also like to teach my students about music theory, particularly while learning to self-accompany. I believe this is critical in turning your instrument into an extension of your voice. (But don't worry! I know you're here to develop your singing voice and that will remain the focus in our lessons)
