About Cirus
Hi, I’m Cirus (she/her)! I graduated from Ohio University in 2023 with a BA in Spanish and certificates in Latin American Studies, European Studies, Law, Justice & Culture, and War & Peace. Additionally, I studied French, Italian, and Portuguese.
I am a strong proponent of the Sapir-Whorf hypothesis, which supposes that our language frames the way in which we understand the world. I myself discovered that I was trans through the gender conventions of Spanish.
My goal is to help you to develop and understand your relationship with Spanish and, in the process, build your competence and confidence in speech, listening, and composition.
