About Oliver
I graduated with a PhD in theoretical particle physics at the University of Freiburg, Germany, in 2013 and had a scientific career working at the University of Basel, Switzerland, at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany, and at the Max-Planck-Institute for nuclear physics Heidelberg, Germany.
Three years ago I became a lecturer at the Mathematical Sciences Department of the University of Liverpool, where I enhanced my teaching skills and learned how to teach classes online. This year I will be awared my Postgraduate Certificate for Academic Practice from the Higher Education Academy and thus also become a fellow of this teaching institution.
I enjoy solving complex mathematical problems and teaching, and of course the combination of the two. In my free time I do lots of sport, spend my time outdoors, or playboardgames.

Hi, my name is Oliver and I am theoretical physics lecturer at the University of Liverpool. I am happy to work with you as my student on a variety of subjects in mathematics or physics, ranging from the introductory to the advanced level.
My preferred teaching style is inquiry-based learning, where we emphasise on you being active and asking questions. I enjoy elaborating and going into nitty gritty details, which is beneficial especially for long-term learning.
