I am a student who has persevered a great deal through examinations and other trials and will carry that same approach to any students who are in primary school and just need a little help in reaching their full potential or capabilities. The activities and methods of teaching will naturally vary from age to age, as well as ability to ability.
My teaching method is most importantly contact with the student , getting to know them and ensuring that they feel comfortable in my presence so when they have any questions or suggestions they do not feel embarressed to ask and maintain a friendly relationship with the student.
I approach each student in a different way, adapting my teaching methods to suit each student and making sure that they learn in the way in which they are most efficient and comfortable. I have mostly taught younger students from the ages of 5-12 however I am willing to take on older students and do the appropriate research to match their specification at the time.

- Classes The centre is open for two afternoons a week. Students nominate the same day each week either on Monday or Thursday to attend class and collect their worksheets. They are then welcome to attend on the other day bringing their work for that day with them.
Tutoring allows for a completely individual, tailored approach. The first step being assessment to ascertain where the 'gaps' lie and then a programme of activities selected to fill in the gaps. An understanding of the child's interests can help to create engaging activities that inspire as well as educate.
I begin tutoring by assessing my student's initial level compared to other students of that age. I then try and stretch the student to see what the potential to improve is and discuss with the student and their parents about what would be the best way forward in tuition and about the goals we will set together. I will cover my expectations in terms of homework and what will occur during a lesson.
I am adaptable, versatile and certainly not one dimensional in terms of the types of students I work with. I have a degree in Banking and Finance as well as a degree in Law and currently working on a degree in Taxation.
I will mostly focus on essay writing and written communication techniques directed at essay-based school entrance and public examinations. Of course, I am keen to encourage and enable pupils to develop their own interests within their subjects and reach their full potential, so will tailor lessons accordingly. I am based in Wimbledon during the holidays, and can travel within London.
I develop understanding and skills, so students become confident in all aspects of English. My friendly style, high expectations and 20+ years experience means everyone enjoys my lessons, makes good progress and achieves excellent results.
