My teaching methodology is to approach each topic in the most beneficial way for each student. No two students' learning styles are the same and I think it is important to recognise this and adapt my teaching style accordingly. My aim is always to get the most from each student and allow them to achieve their full potential.
I can give lessons from class 8th to 12th as well as competition level. My technique is to solve tough problems in a simple and easy way. I start a lesson with introduction, their use in daily life and cover every subtopics required for the lesson.
Alan designs the guitar sessions and supporting materials around artists, songs and music selected by the student. This builds confidence and understanding and tends to be a more enjoyable way to learn. This approach ensures that each student builds fundamental knowledge (e.g. scales and chords) whilst developing their practical playing skills.
My teaching approach is purely based in the student. I employ both academic and practical tasks to allow each student to reach their goals. Each student learns differently and as such we explore all areas and methods of learning. We will discuss this in our first session.
My teaching philosophy is based on making connections between new concepts and prior knowledge and experience to engage the learner and start from a solid foundation of understanding. By connecting new and old information, it is possible to gain a deeper understanding of novel concepts and allows for lateral and critical thinking to develop.
My teaching method includes storytelling as I start by discusing the background of the topic and go stepwise turing apparently boring biology concepts into interesting stories.
During our first lesson we would discuss the weakest and strongest areas. What topic are you most confident in? Which topics do you often feel weary about? What style of teaching do you prefer (Visual, Auditory or Kinesthetic)? By doing so I am able to establish exercises that would focus on topics needing more work with the correct learning strategy for you.
I give lessons to GCSE and A Level students studying for qualifications in English Language and English Literature. I am known for my relaxed yet attentive teaching style, and I understand the importance of creating a safe and open environment with the student in order that academic success can be comfortably attained.
I can teach maths ranging from primary school level to higher level. I believe that success with maths relies on having confidence with the various smaller tools that fit together to solve a bigger problem.
I like to be flexible when teaching and tailor each lesson around what the drummer would like to learn and focus on as well as what their weaknesses and strengths are. I can start from a basic 4/4 beat through to advanced fills depending on the requirements of the drummer. My emphasis towards the drummer is always solid, rock hard, tight drumming.
I will have 1 to 1 tuition classes or group sessions if requested. I will teach you methodically how to practice and play every given piece.
I am flexible and willing to provide whatever support and help you may need. I can work with individuals as well as with small and larger groups, and have experience with both.
I have a flexible teaching approach with is interactive and engaging. I adopt a person centred approach to my teaching to help students gain knowledge and understanding in the best way for them.
Even the most difficult parts of the theory and the practice, become really easy and interesting through a teaching procedure that makes the students feel comfort and give them the opportunity to discover the interesting and beautiful side of Mathematics.
I can work with you to find what works for you. I am flexible depending on your learning style. Repetition, explanation, mind mapping, post-it note, brainstorming, answer mock questions etc. I like to work with you to find the best tool to help you learn.
Hello, I’m a French Aupair based around Edinburgh, I’m hoping to teach French at a high school or college level in the future. I have helped a few students with learning the French language for a few years now, mostly helping with homework and assisting with a school project providing a deeper understanding of the language.
Within each lesson I would hope to cover all the four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing, incorporating contemporary topics as well as ensuring accuracy and comprehension. My lessons may also involve games, songs, and recordings from the internet. For the younger students I have also used animations and repetition to ensure retention.
I approach each topic with the mentality that if I can explain it in layman terms then it is understandable, and no use of excessive technical language need be used. I enjoy letting others try to problem solve rather than hand-hold as it allows you to come up with your own path of how you understand the principle.
I am a lateral thinker focussed not only on great results but in engendering a fascination and understanding of literature's connection to wider culture. I strive to connect the students' interests with the material they encounter, in order to foster deep and long-lasting connections.
I teach private lessons or group lessons in a school. I teach from the basic foundation and do not assume that my students have an already prior knowledge. I also use mnemonics to ensure that the student does not forget what he has learned for a long time. I had produced the best maths result of an exam class in a certain school using this technique.
I'm an experienced print/online/broadcast journalist and abookworm with background in English. I hold an MA in English Literature and language, where my final assignment was a Creative Writing one, and another MA in Journalism and Mass Communcation. I now freelance as a journalist, travel writer, translator, web content editor and social media manager and have self-published a travel book.
I base my classes on annotated diagrams, infograms, and pictures. When an idea can be visualised I believe it is easier to understand, remember and re-teach. I am an understanding individual, a patient tutor/teacher with time for every - body.
It's important to strike a balance between maintaining interest and attacking the difficult parts. Thankfully, history is the kind of subject that lends itself well to both 'solid fact' method and a more creative leaning. I like to discover the ideal method for the individual and find a way to teach in line with their needs.
It is based on how one can enjoy it, how to learn different art styles, art deco, pointillism and other abstract media.
I have a personable approach to teaching which helps my students to feel relaxed during our sessions. I like to challenge students by having them answer their own questions with some prompting and honing their inference skills so they are able to derive answers for themselves.
My teaching style depends on the subject: for Maths it’s mainly about going through questions and seeing where there are areas which students are having trouble understanding. It’s then about getting enough question practice to consolidate the students knowledge over this topic.
Theory will be from habits standards and classroom bases hands on for cutting and colouring you will need your own scissors and comb.
I like to work with students during the initial meeting which is informal to discuss strengths and any areas they feel that they would like to develop and work on. Each session is prepared in advance at the previous session with the involvement of the student. A lot of the sessions involve visual and interactive work in a relaxed and non formal manner.
I like to create a completely individualised and customised courses for each individual client creating what the client requires.
