Maths is a subject where practice makes perfect, and therefore teach in a way that encourages people to keep trying until they are confident in doing the work, I do this by showing examples and working through work.
Im very confident, outgoing and friendly and I have always taken my work seriously. I achieved two A*'s and an A in my A Levels, including 100% in my Philosophy exam. I love getting to know other people and making friends, and whilst I always remain professional I intend for my students to also find me relatable. I want to get to know an individual student before I decide how I will tutor them.
I find that the best way to learn is through giving examples and answering past questions. This means students can learn what the examiners are looking for so they can achieve the highest marks. However, I find the applications of mathematics in the wider world is fascinating so would like to show students this.
I like to keep my lessons fun and interactive. Allowing my students to get involved in practical tasks, allows me to identify how much they are learning- whilst on the go.

I have never taught or tutored before so I would let the student inform me of how they like to learn. I myself am a visual learner so I may try to go over things that way. Happy to re-explain in any way. I would look over the syllabus/materials to make sure that I understand what the student is looking for.

Where possible, I approach each topic by connecting it with an individuals interests. To engage a horror enthusiast recently, I delivered probability through the crimes of The Joker and delivered sequences through the plotting of a serial killer. On a lighter note, we learnt about area and volume by looking at the size of homes for his favourite animals.

It sounds a little crazy, but I love my language and I want to share it with the rest of the world. I base my class of everyday life. So we start off slow and hopefully see at what pace we can work on to achieve an outcome that suits all. I have taught before, not language but in work I have successfully taught people how to do a job. So I have become naturally more patient.
Enthusiastic, passionate and patient. Maths is about being creative and brave. The correct answer isn't everything. It's the whole story you tell when solving a problem. Good teaching helps you construct a logical solution that is effficient demonstrates the students understanding.
