Find Bachata lessons near me in Croydon

Most beginners find bachata easier to pick up than salsa or tango.

• The basic step uses eight counts: three steps and a tap on 4 and 8.
• The music is slower than salsa, so you have more time to think between steps.
• Hip movement is the trickier part and comes from bending the knees rather than pushing the hips.
• Partner connection means learning to lead or follow through gentle frame signals.

One-to-one bachata lessons let you practise at your own pace without the pressure of a busy group class.

Bachata teachers in Croydon typically charge £32/h.

Pricing can vary based on:

• Your dance experience and learning goals
• The instructor's background in Latin dance
• The duration and frequency of lessons
• Where the sessions take place

Online lessons are often more affordable while remaining effective.

The time it takes to learn bachata varies with your practice routine and dance background.

• After two or three classes, most beginners can follow the 1-2-3-tap rhythm on their own.
• Within two to three months of weekly lessons, you can link simple turns and side steps.
• Around six months of regular practice lets most dancers enjoy social nights with confidence.
• Styles such as Dominican or sensual bachata take a year or more to refine.

One-to-one lessons focus on your weak points so every session moves you forward.
