I work with young people from all over Devon, helping them achieve their goals whether that be a C at GCSE maths or entry to medical school after A-Levels. I now also offer EFL tuition - Which subject(s) do you teach? I teach Maths and Sciences (separate, or dual award) from KS3 to GCSE. I also teach Biology, Human Biology and Chemistry at A-Level.
I stick exclusively to the task in hand of getting you through this particular academic hurdle so that you can get on with the next phase of your life. - Which subject(s) do you teach? Biology only. - Tell me about your qualifications. B.A./M.A. (Oxon.) in Zoology from Oxford University (Exeter College).
My teaching method is very relaxed. I always try too relate the subject too something children can relate too so it makes things a lot more interesting. I believe humour, a good personality and an ability to differentiate between each pupil and their needs is vital. My structure for lessons always depends on my pupils and their pace. I do not work as a matron or principal.
I am a passionate and enthusiastic university student and greatly enjoy helping others to achieve the best possible understanding and performance in biology. Having taught gymnastics to children between the ages of 2 and 15 for the past few years I have a good understanding of communication with children and how to cater each lesson to the individual.
I have a 2:1 in Sport and Exercise Science from Stirling University. Although it is a sports degree the majority of the modules covered were biology based!! I am happy to tutor anybody up to that level. I understand that everybody learns in different ways and at different paces.
I take joy in the exchange of knowledge and I am very interested in the process of learning and how unique it is to each person. As such I am flexible to the needs of individual students and do not have a fixed approach to teaching, instead I will work with the learning approach that the student brings.
I can give lessons to anyone at school and/or just starting out at university! I try to focus on understanding rather than memorization and think that a step by step methodology is most appropriate.
I would start my teaching session with planning, learning outcomes and deadline setting. I would like to help A level or BTEC students achieve their target goals and challenge themselves for more. I would like to first know what the student is struggling with and make a list of the things that they need to improve on.
I'm a very science-oriented person, and my main interest is in human physiology and immunology, but also the biological sciences in general. As a tutor, I aim to target IB students but am also willing to assist A-level or GCSE students. I was previously an IB student, studying biology and chemistry at a higher level.
In tutoring, I would attempt to find the best ways the tutee learns, coming up with engaging and interesting ways to memorise information that suits them.
I am a 2nd year PhD student at the University of Exeter. I live in Exeter and am willing to travel within reason or hold lessons at my house. I can teach Maths, Biology or Chemistry. I teach any student from primary to secondary school with a main aim to help students achieve the best results they can in their GCSE's and A levels.
I don't have a strict methodology as every person I have taught has been different! While I am comfortable with using presentations in a more formal 'lecture' style but would always follow this with two-way learning, where students engage with the topic.
At my Medical School, we use the ‘problem based learning’ approach to growing our knowledge. We discuss a case and research questions based around it.
Looking to locally tutor 1-on-1 Primary to Secondary age, mainly in sciences but also exam help and preparation for GCSEs. I have experience teaching with learning difficulties and have a creative edge in order to find ways to learn adapted to the student.
I try to tailor my teaching method to each individual student or a group. It is after all your time, and my task is only to make sure you truly understand and appreciate the subject you are learning about. Making the subject actually interesting is my goal.
I am a student myself, learning continously in order to gain more knowledge, as per a student myself I will be able to understand your situations more and will teach you in a way I teach myself for greater success.
Confident with OCR, CIE and AQA GCSE and A-level biology syllabi. I am currently in my 3rd year of biological sciences at Exeter, with a specialism in physiology and immunity. I am able to aid the learning of secondary school students, A-level students, and access course students.
The lessons will be focused around your questions as a way to help understand the formal lingo that is used for human anatomy. This will be done through online chat to reduce the pressure of the experience and make the lessons work around your commitments as I am able to do evening and night lessons.
Detailed and broard lessons available to a levels ranging from primary to GCSE level. Friendly, laid back with an ability to relate learning to your individual interests. Can help you work to your deadlines with to help you succeed.
My teaching method is learning through practice. Example questions should be completed and then areas which the student needs help in can be identified, addressed and then re-assessed in order to determine whether or not the student has a comprehensive understanding of the problem area.
I base my classes on focusing on each individuals weaknesses to help each student feel more confident in achieving their goals. My classes are casual, however I meticulously feel that time management is important so strive to make the most of every minute.
I believe i am very good in explaining even the most complicated topics in simple terms and give detailed notes in each topic according to the mark scheme
Hi There! I have recently finished university graduating with a 1st class degree in biomedical science. Here I covered subjects such as maths, anatomy, microbiology, biochemistry, genetics, haematology and cellular sciences. I am available to tutor all levels, starting immediately.
I will try to evaluate your understanding of the subject and start from there. We would focus on the facts and problems and explain them with life examples in a way that wold make them easy to remember.
My aim is to make learning fun, I like to tailor learning to the needs of students and have assisted many younger veterinary students throughout my time at university and as a veterinary surgeon. I am very patient and like to come up with interesting ideas for learning to help make studies easier.
I am very patient with students and make sure that they do understand everything that is taught before the session is over. If they are not able to follow I am very flexible in terms of adapting new methods in order to help the student grasp the information.
I approach the hardest topics in the course by starting with the basics and building up from there as this is a very good way to ensure a sound understanding of more complex scientific processes. Everybody learns in a different way so I endeavor to tailor each lesson to the student's needs.
I treat every pupil individually and like to spend the first lesson trying to get to know them and how they like to study using different methods - This typically takes 20 minutes. I also identify what areas they need to work on the most before i can design a set of lessons structured to their style. This first lesson I usually give at half price.
I am a third biochemistry student and give planned lessons to GCSE and A-level students. Lessons will be structured around whatever topics the student needs improvement on, or on a wider more general basis if required. I am passionate about what I do and keep lessons interesting but to the point.
