Hello! I am a student currently in year 11 and I am doing lessons on KS3 and GCSE maths, biology, chemistry, French and Chinese. I have already taken my Chinese GCSE and achieved an A* (I am a native speaker).
I teach mainly in a teacher-led format, subscribing to the research-led approach currently gaining traction in the teaching community. I include the six-key teaching principles in all of my teaching, as popularised by Durrington Multi Academy Trust, where I teach full-time. I am however versed in different methods of teaching to suit individual students from different educational settings.
I would like to do group classes and one to one class depending on the need of student. I could give lesson from degree level students to O and A level students. My methodology includes trick to memorize subject matters, which I used as student and include as much examples in the materials to understand the concepts of topics.
I like to break things down into bite-sized chunks making topics memorable and manageable for GCSE level biology. I am very patient and I understand everyone learns at a different pace using varying techniques. My personal favourite way to learn is using lots of colours to get vital information to stick in my head.
I like to gauge current understanding and discover what interests a pupil, so this can be related to the lessons. I then use a mixture of visual and literature along with the use of IT, with an emphasis on developing an interest and having fun whilst learning.
No one teaching method works for all students, therefore my lessons will be tailored to the needs of the student. My teaching technique is therefore flexible, I believe it is important for the student to UNDERSTAND the subject rather than just learn to regurgitate the knowledge.
My teaching method relies on tailoring my approach to individuals. I like to use a variety of methods with student enjoyment at the centre.
My teachimg method is simple, build the student from the basics to the complex information. I base how I teach on the knowledge the student already possesses.
I am a tutor with a keen interest in English, Latin, Classics and Biology, I have completed my GCSEs and would like to pass on my knowledge of these subjects to younger students. My lessons would consist of past exam paper analysis and exam technique, particularly answering specific questions common in iGCSE syllabuses.
I graduated in 2011 and am qualified to teach KS3, KS4 and KS5. I have a very good understanding of the Science curriculum (and the changes that are currently taking place), and am experienced at teaching exam preparation and GCSE science retakes with year 12 students. I have taught in two local schools in West Sussex and am also involved in teacher training and development.
I base my teaching strategy on the topics required by your specific board and am happy to tailor our time to play to your strengths and improve your weaknesses. If there are specific areas you are aware you need to improve upon I can focus solely on these, by working through exam style questions, both short and long answer.
I vary depending on what helps the person best. Whether more assistance is needed or not. I feel like if you're not enjoying it, it won't stick.
My teaching methods tend to be simple, direct and efficient. I aim to remove the confusing useless information from topics so students are left with the most important information that is ready to learn. My classes dive into exam papers and questions straight away which I believe is the best way to develop.
I am so enthusiastic about science, how it gives us knowledge, understanding, excitement of and even awe about our world - it's amazing! And I love supporting students gain and use knowledge and understanding so they reach their goals.
