Hello! I am a student currently in year 11 and I am doing lessons on KS3 and GCSE maths, biology, chemistry, French and Chinese. I have already taken my Chinese GCSE and achieved an A* (I am a native speaker).
I like to break things down into bite-sized chunks making topics memorable and manageable for GCSE level biology. I am very patient and I understand everyone learns at a different pace using varying techniques. My personal favourite way to learn is using lots of colours to get vital information to stick in my head.
My name is Maria and I am a qualified Science Teacher with a passion for one-to-one tutoring. I am based in Chichester and tutor students in Science, Biology and Chemistry. - Which subject(s) do you teach? I teach Science up to GCSE level and Chemistry and Biology up to A-level.
I graduated in 2011 and am qualified to teach KS3, KS4 and KS5. I have a very good understanding of the Science curriculum (and the changes that are currently taking place), and am experienced at teaching exam preparation and GCSE science retakes with year 12 students. I have taught in two local schools in West Sussex and am also involved in teacher training and development.
I make difficult concepts easy to grasp with my teaching style and experience of teaching both gifted and talented and special educational needs. Anyone can achieve the grade they want with hard work and the right support.
I teach mainly in a teacher-led format, subscribing to the research-led approach currently gaining traction in the teaching community. I include the six-key teaching principles in all of my teaching, as popularised by Durrington Multi Academy Trust, where I teach full-time. I am however versed in different methods of teaching to suit individual students from different educational settings.
I am a very encouraging teacher, giving information and feedback - getting the student to work through the thought process themselves. I believe that regurgitating information is not right for all people.
I will tutor up to GCSE level in Biology. I am currently in my first year of studying Biomedical Science at Portsmouth as an undergraduate straight from college. I did triple science at GCSE and I have a Biology A level. I would be happy to adapt my teaching style for different children depending on what works best for them.
I like to gauge current understanding and discover what interests a pupil, so this can be related to the lessons. I then use a mixture of visual and literature along with the use of IT, with an emphasis on developing an interest and having fun whilst learning.
I like to create a relaxed learning environment where the students and I can discuss openly what they think. I much prefer setting problem solving tasks rather than lecturing or recalling facts, that is how pupils learn best by maximising the use of their neural pathways.
I'm currently studying biochemistry at University and I give Chemistry, Biology and Maths lessons, teaching students in Primary school all the way up to GCSE students in Portsmouth. I've helped many children get into their first choice secondary schools via the 11 + and will help your child as much as i can.
I base my teaching strategy on the topics required by your specific board and am happy to tailor our time to play to your strengths and improve your weaknesses. If there are specific areas you are aware you need to improve upon I can focus solely on these, by working through exam style questions, both short and long answer.
First of all, I am a passionate tutor d I enjoy passing my knowledge to others. I find it very rewarding when students tell me enthusiastically about their good results at exams. Secondly, through my long medical studies and via my job as GP, I have become very patient and a good listener. This helps me to adapt to any student`s background.
I'm a Oncobiology master degree student, with a Biomedical Sciences bachelor diploma, looking for school pupils who need help with Biology! My methodology is based on analogies and schemes. I like to begin with the basics. I believe it's easier to understand raw concepts and only then introduce more detailed information.
