I'm a student at sixth form who acquired almost full marks in her own English Literature GCSE and as a result would like to help other GCSE students follow in those footsteps. I'd love to help people succeed and enjoy English Literature (and language!) as much as I did.
I am an experienced secondary school English teacher who makes learning as fun as possible. My background is in Creative Writing but I have taught both literature and language in secondary schools for several years. I am also experienced tutoring primary and secondary school students as well as adults wanting to gain additional qualifications.
I study English based subjects at A Level and wish to give all children from primary to A Level education the chance to study English on a deeper level by teaching the children the fundamental skills required to become accurate in their essay writing and reading.
My teaching method will be as thorough as possibly but at the same time trying to keep the topic interesting and fun.
My teaching method is based on the students preferences as it can be tailored to suit the students best style of learning; depending on the students goals I can provide extra lessons based on any weak areas within the subject, covering all the assessment objectives (specifically AO3) and going over past papers.
I have been told I am bubbly, make my lessons fun and exciting. I love teaching and love allowing children to progress and learn in a fun way! Experience of tutoring and results from this include children passing exams, passing grammar school entry tests and gaining confidence in their ability to apply different methods and skills.
I am a highly motivated individual. I view education as a fundamental part of growth and independance. I am a mother to one. My educational journey has been the apart of my life since leaving school over 15 years ago. I am open to all levels of learning. I make learning fun and enjoyable. I always ensure I listen to my learners and tailor my sessions to each individual needs.
I am new to Bedfordshire but have taught in Herts and Bedfordshire for 8 years. I give lessons to KS2-KS4 students. I have helped adults with passing skills tests too. I plan individual lessons based on assessment and where possible liason with the student's class teacher. I provide resources and practice revision materials to support the student in their work between our sessions.
I am a sixth form student studying A levels who takes a keen interest in teaching GCSE and younger knowledge. Through my understanding of cognition and own revision techniques I have a developed knowledge in how to help students.
I give classes to children in school. I like to approach my lessons by finding out what they do not understand. Explaining then quickly testing their knowledge till they are confident. Lessons will last 1 hour each and can be extended for one more hour if needed. Can have up to three lessons a week.
I base my classes on a mutual understanding of respect and trust. I aim to create a peaceful work environment whilst maintaining a good standard of work and progression. As a tutor who has worked closely with children, I understand what is necessary to make a child feel confident in what they produce as well as guiding them on the road to success.
Educated to degree level, I offer tutorial support in ensuring any submissions are question specific, proof read and give a varied and rich script. My instructions are by engaging any student to think across a broad spectrum of any subject considered and to fully express their thought and opinion.
My teaching methodology is that a good teacher is one that shows you were to look, but doesn't tell you what you see. I would work mainly with the flipped classroom method, encouraging my pupils to take responsibility for a subject they are struggling in and grow a love for it outside of my teaching. Curiosity is a main driver of learning.
As briefly described above my major subejcts of teaching and research have been Arabic language and the allied content. Mostly I have taught adult students, both graduates and non-graduate students. My methods are both teacher-centered and learner-centered. Thus I give lectures and invites questions during or after the class.
I have had over 10 years experience, teaching all age groups from Year 3 to Year 6. I live in Milton Keynes where I teach Year 6. I also hold a TEFL qualiification. Depending on your needs, I would like to establish what you already know and what you would like to get out of your lesson before we begin. I am highly experienced in prepping for tests and believe that everyone can achieve.
Student-led: working to each student’s individual strengths and preferred learning style. In order to gauge this it is important to assess the student’s prior learning and their learning goals, using testing, questions and looking at their portfolio of work. Breaking down the issues they are facing so it doesn’t feel like a mammoth task in order to improve.
My desire highlights how I am a committed individual who has a significant amount of knowledge on American history and politics. I am very accommodating and have various teaching methods - every student is individual and this should be celebrated.
I have been tutoring for at least five years now. Majority of my students are at GCSE level, however I do teach younger students pre-school, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. I first started with just three children but now over time I have become widely popular around my local area.
My teaching method is flexible to each student in order to make sure that they are able to learn in the best way possible for them personally. During my time at sixth form, lessons were often made up of interactive activities as well as textbook work, and this is how I feel most confident teaching pupils, however I am always willing to try something new.
I am a keen A Level Student who receives straight A's and A*s. I study Sociology, Business Studies and English Literature. I am keen to teach others as communicating definitely helps me out when I am about to sit an exam.
I am offering lessons on how to write poetry and other forms of writing, on both a creative and technical level. Also, to improve my student's vocabulary, spelling and grammar - if needed - and to get them to read more often. I make my students complete a reading log.
I am a friendly and encouraging teacher who will give lessons to GCSE, AS, and A-Level students, or anyone who wishes to simply improve their writing outside the classroom. My approach will be for the student to send me their work beforehand and then discuss improvements over the course of the lesson.
