My teaching style is based on their ability. For beginners, I encourage learning basic chords/scales with the intention of using them in a song. For intermediates and advanced, I encourage learning Grades to make lessons more purposeful. My format follows a monthly cycle. Namely three weeks of grades, followed by one week of a more relaxed lesson based on songs of the students choosing.
My teaching method is by going through each topic step by step. That will allow the student easier to learn and less confusing. I will also want to train students to know how to count the beat and play the exact same rhythm as the score. This will make the student a better guitarist and a better musician.
My teaching method includes finding out the level of the student and preparing a program especially for them. The most important part of the course will be getting to know the instrument, ways to practice on your own, basics of music theory and advanced subjects such as certain techniques, songwriting and even live performance.
Ranging from 45 minutes to an hour, the lesson is tailored to the needs, desires and tastes of the student. My sessions specialise in the creation of new music that arises from developing and advancing technical ability. Playing together is always a necessity. I am able to but do not major on grades or levels etc.
