My teaching methodology is engaging. I ensure I understand the goal each student is looking to achieve and look to make the sessions interesting for each individual. My main teaching method is the: Discovery Learning Discovery learning is an approach to instruction that focuses on students’ personal experiences as the foundation for conceptual development.
My teaching method focusses on engagement with the language and cognitive assimilation of vocabulary, combined with a strengthening of linguistic skills.
I really try to help students enjoy languages again. The GCSE and A Level courses can be dry and demanding, and it can help for students to learn to see the languages positively again using songs or extracts of films. However, leading up to exams I use past papers to show students the correct methods when preparing for exams.
My lessons are for all ages and abilities. I base my lessons on what the student wants to, or needs to learn. For example, for a GCSE French student, I would research the topics given by the relevant examination board and plan a lesson appropriately. I also ensure that the lesson has time to cover anything the student was finding particularly difficult or did not understand.
As students are differents i set my approach accordingly. Usually after our first lesson. I can tell it does work.
