My teaching is tailored towards the students needs, weather this be organizing revision, spot tests or content presentations. The student will be invited to discuss their ambitions and concerns surrounding the chosen subject and a suitable teaching plan can be developed.
I have been teaching Geography for 6 years at a high achieving secondary school after achieving my BA in Geography, PGCE and Masters in Education from Durham University. I also tutor in person and online using a professional tutoring website. - Which subject(s) do you teach? KS3 Geography Common Entrance (CE) GCSE Geography AS Geography A2 Geography - Tell me about your qualifications.
I am happy to tutor students up and in equivalent to A-level standards. I hope to structure lessons based around each individual students' optimum way of learning. As a tutor, I hope to be supportive of my students, in terms of the topic being taught, in addition to any of their other needs- such as personal statements and university applications.
I will tailor my lessons to suit students' needs, and can teach up to an A-level standard. I will ensure that lessons meet individual student syllabuses, and can teach either physical or human geography, but specialise in human geography; politics, social geographies, psychological geographies, and development.
I will use different materials with access to the internet when offering lessons at my home. It is a welcoming and comfortable learning environment with access to resources and presentations via the television screen. For geography in particular, I will cover how to access all marks for each type of question.
my teaching method is based around the student and what they are struggling with most. I adapt my method to fit each student. I like to break down complex topics/theories/research and teach each component before bringing it all together as I feel it helps the student find it less daunting and often makes it click more.
I am a flexible and resilient tutor, who will never give up and I won’t let the students give up either. I always try to find the common voice with my students and give them the most personalized help possible. I can go to your house, but I can suggest many other meeting places too depending on your needs.
I like to use brief but comprehensive notes to teach as I feel they make the workload more approachable whilst still providing more than enough information for the exams
