I firmly believe children learn when they’re immersed and engaged and having fun. I encourage children to recognise and celebrate their achievements and to use this as a foundation to the learning. Tutoring sessions can be one to one or in small groups. Workshops for parents are available.
I am fun loving and empathetic. My lessons are always based on precision teaching and tailored specifically to my students learning style.
I have a Master's degree (Distinction) and a Bachelor's degree (First, with highest marks in year) in English and American Literature from the University of Kent.
I teach English from primary level up to GCSE and EFL from beginner to proficiency. I always offer a free lesson which includes an assessment so that I can devise an individual course of lessons based around the student's individual needs.
I have a no nonsense tutoring style designed to improve analytical arguments for essays, vocabulary, speaking and communication. I have a very flexible work hours and am happy to tutor anyone from KS1 to adult learners simply looking to improve their writing and/or speaking.
I prefer a very interactive localised approach, incorporating the students own interests into their learning, to keep them engaged and hopefully increase their interest in the subject itself
I have been teaching for many years now, both here and abroad. I specialise in teaching online and develop my own courses, specific to student needs. I also wrote a guide for students and teachers (How do Students Learn Online?) and have been guest tutor on a number of online courses.
I have recently finised my A-Levels. I have studied English Language and Literature and I recieved A/Bs throughout my course. I will give lessons to people in primary, secondary school those doing their GCSE or A-Levels. I would help the student grasp a deeper understanding of the book they are being taught.
I approach the teaching field as very interactively and as participatory as I can. I have mostly taught younger children (5-12 year old), however I would be more than willing to help GCSE/A level students with any applications, studying for exams, or essay planning.

I am a secondary teacher of English/Literature and qualified SENDCo. I have extensive experience teaching key stage 3/4 and 5. I am on the Leadership team of an excellent secondary school and specialise in teaching challenging students in inventive ways. I use active learning and link texts to interests e.g. Lego for Shakespeare.
My teaching method is fun! Learning through games is the best way to learn, it helps you remember better. I like to start my lessons with a quick recap of the previous week and then get straight down to the work that needs doing in a fun, simple way. I will also send you ways to revise and the best methods to learning things.
I believe it is important to tailor my lessons to the individual as we all like to learn in different ways. Dialogue and discussion is vital to an enjoyable session as opposed to endless writing down of ideas. I am happy to explain basic reading techniques and then develop these as we progress.
Growing up helping my little brother with his homework made me have a passion for teaching and tutoring, so much so that now I aspire to become a primary school teacher. I love working with children, and am very passionate about making an improvement in their lives.
My teaching method is small groups of maximum 10. Giving group lectures and emphasising the benefits of individual needs within the group dynamics. I can give lessons to smaller groups as the need arises.
My teaching methods change depending on who I am teaching. For example, when teaching school pupils I tend to follow their school's curriculum in order to provide a useful and practical service that benefits them the most. I give lessons to anyone studying for GCSE, A Level or anything else under a degree level. These are always 1-1 sessions, that go over current lessons in greater detail.

I believe (and my experience supports this) that anyone can 'do' English, no matter what they have experienced at school, or been told by teachers. For children at GCSE age and younger understanding and enjoying English is a matter of confidence and accessing the curriculum in a way which suits their needs and interests. Teaching well is all about positive communication.
