I am an engineering student at the University of Edinburgh.I have had my eyes on this stream ever since I started excelling in Physics and Math. Over the years,my teaching methods have evolved a lot.I normally ask the students what problems they are struggling with and then proceed to explain the relevant fundamentals.
My teaching method is simple, starting from the theory and then going towards practical dealing of subject so make students understand well.Happy to answer queries at all time.Won't run with the course, can teach as long as the student wants on any problem area.
- Classes Every student has a programme that is built just for them. They concentrate on getting to grips with topics that they are covering in school whilst also working on a parallel thread that is put together to fill any gaps that may exist in their core skills. * The MagiKats programme supports the Scottish Curriculum for Excellence.
The typical lesson will usually look like this: First we review with the student what was done in class, I then help the student fully understand the lessons while helping with the homework. Occasionally we will have a training lesson over what was seen in anticipation of a test. I believe that every student has a great potential which just needs to be unleashed.
I firstly find out expectations, build trust and rapport and then find out students learning style. I am very adept at this because I have trained and mentored at work for years. It’s important to find out how the student is being taught and offer alternatives that may be easier to understand.
My methods of teaching Maths mostly involves problem solving and practising a lot of different questions and some homework will have to be done. For every query about any problem, we will cover the theory behind it in order to get a better idea of and understand how mathematics work.
I am able to give lessons in Maths and the Sciences up to GSCE level. In teaching I believe it is important to make each student feel comfortable enough to take risks and make mistakes in order for them to learn and understand the content in a way that most makes sense to them. Each student is unique and I hope to reflect this in the way I approach teaching.
I give lessons in French, Maths and Physics to A-Level. My structured tutoring will help a student break down any difficulties they face in a subject and we will work through these to get students to a level where they not only feel comfortable with the material but are also able to achieve their full potential in exams and beyond.
-ONLY skype tutoring!! -Studied at independent school for 7 years; currently at univeristy studying physical chemistry and maths.
As a undergraduate student, I understand the difficulties of secondary school science. My methods include breaking tricky subjects down into small manageable chunks, using several methods, depending on my students strengths and learning methods.
Lessons are aimed focused on the curriculum at hand and I like to teach by example - giving a conceptual explanation first before reinforcing with worked through examples. Thanks to my diverse interests and genuine love of learning I am excited to coach students of all levels, from the basics through to the more nuanced aspects of the subject.
Methodology Change your relationship with maths through creative, personalised tuition. Everyone can learn Maths, regardless of your past experience. We can work together to improve your confidence and skills.
I love Maths and Physics, I am patient and commited; these attributes reflect in my lessons. I like helping students through questions that may be troubling them or concepts which they are struggling to understand. I help reinforce what they learned in school and push them a bit further to prepare them for exams.
My teaching method is to use my past experience, relate that to each student, to really help them understand each individual topic. By building on the small basics, and then adding more and more, anything can be achieved, even if it looks daunting at first.
Change your relationship with maths through creative, personalised tuition. I believe that maths is something that everyone can learn to do. Whatever your current level or previous experience, we can work together to help you develop confidence in your own learning. - Which subject(s) do you teach? I teach maths.
My teaching method is to first understand the whole syllabus and then gradually help the student to learn in detail with more practices.I prefer the classes as home tuition to be given to the students up to high school individually.
I strongly believe that there must be only one reason for you not understanding science and maths: they taught these in a boring, obsolete way. It's their fault, not yours.
I am a student in my last year of school, studying maths, economics and mandarin at Advanced Higher level. While I do not have a maths degree, I am no more than two years from sitting Higher and National 5 mathematics, which gives me a superior grasp of the exam techniques and knowledge that pupils actually need in order to score top grades.
I'm a responsible and sociable recently graduated spanish boy with an advanced knowlege of english language. I've been studying Industrial Design engineering and Mechanical engineering for the last 6 years, and it will be a pleasure helping childs and teens from secondary level to university degree level to improve at science subjects.
Giving lessons to secondary and graduate level students. Love to teach students the way they are comfortable in. As a tutor i wish my student to get good grades and m going to help them as much i can do.
Hi, here's how we'll get you the top grades! Firstly, I'm a second year Linguistics student at The University of Edinburgh on track for a 2:1 or possibly a 1st in my undergraduate MA (Hons) degree. As a tutor I like to explain things clearly, going through problems step by step with the student and explaining my reasons for my choices.
I always try to suit my lessons to the individual student, first identifying his or her strong points and those that need improvement. Solving many problems & doing plenty of exercises is helpful, but never to the point when it just gets boring. I prefer to be flexible, to make sure the student really understands the issue, rather than just repeating the same old thing.
I believe building confidence is absolutely key and thus I focus on making sure the student fully understands the covered concepts. I have worked with many students and have learnt that there is no set method for teaching, but rather finding a method tailored to the student.
I think it is important to realise that not everyone learns best in the same way, and to always be prepared to explain the same thing in more than one way as the way that something best makes sense will vary from individual to individual. I also think it is important to celebrate the victories, as a positive mind set is a much better starting point for learning.
I teach private lessons or group lessons in a school. I teach from the basic foundation and do not assume that my students have an already prior knowledge. I also use mnemonics to ensure that the student does not forget what he has learned for a long time. I had produced the best maths result of an exam class in a certain school using this technique.
I encourage the student to learn at their own pace as everyone learns different topics at different speeds.
My first goal is to find out what needs to be taught. With the aid of diagrams, formula sheet and acrynyms I will present the method and use examples to practice the rechnique. Learning resources are effective in meeting all levels of learning. The last step is to review what has been learned, providing real life application of theorems in engineering, for example.
My teaching method is by topics and a particular focus on past year papers to target exam requirements. I also aim for students to have a deeper understanding of the subject matter. I will teach based on students need and sessions can be run in a Q&A fashion if preferred so that you get the best value for money.
I have always had a passion for science and Physics in particular as it searches for the answers to some of the most fundamental questions of the universe. I have a lot of experience communicating ideas to people of varying levels of physics knowledge.
I'm hard working and innovative. I like team work and to develop my leadership skills. Also self motivated and committed to the task. As a tutor I have had experience with students from 15 to 22 years old, especially with related math courses.
