Find Muay Thai private lessons in Epsom

While Muay Thai has a reputation for toughness, the early stages focus on technique rather than full intensity.

New students usually focus on:

• Stance and footwork: the foundation of every technique, learnt before any strike.
• Basic strikes: punches, kicks, knees and elbows introduced one at a time.
• Fitness building: drills designed to build endurance without burning you out.
• Defence and clinch basics: partner drills introduced once your stance feels solid.

One-to-one lessons with a qualified instructor turn the toughest aspects into clear, achievable steps.

In Epsom, expect to pay about £37/h for an hour of Muay Thai coaching.

The cost depends on:

• Your level: complete beginner, intermediate or advanced practitioner.
• The tutor's experience: years of training, fight record and teaching experience all influence pricing.
• The package you choose: multiple-lesson packages typically reduce the price per session.
• The lesson format: home visits include travel time, while online lessons remain more affordable.

Most coaches offer a free trial lesson so you can test their teaching style before committing.

There's no fixed timeline for Muay Thai, but most students see real progress within their first few months.

Most students follow this kind of timeline:

• First 3 months: you'll learn stance, basic strikes and pad work fundamentals.
• 6 to 12 months: you'll start linking techniques fluidly and building real timing.
• After your first year: most students reach a respectable practising level by this stage.
• 2 years and beyond: elite technique and competition readiness take dedicated training.

Personal lessons with an experienced instructor mean every session pushes you towards the next level.
